Everyone in our community is excited that our students have finally made it to Richfield. Busses pulled into Richfield at about 6:30 pm on Monday, August 23rd and we have all been running like mad ever since. Students spent the rest of Monday moving into their dorm rooms. Tuesday brought school registration and exploration of the fun new community. Wednesday was the first day of school, and all of our students have said how much they love the schools and the opportunities that they are finding here. Here are a few pictures of the initial student arrival. See if you can find anyone you know!

Message from the President
Monday, April 26th, 2010From the pen of RRH studentbody President LeCallin Cly:
“Our Mutton Fry was so much fun! We all learned from the staff and visiting community members how to properly butcher a sheep. Everyone helped with the butchering, some kids cut up the meat, and others set up for the dinner. We had Community people that helped us and Title VII people and we thank them, we could have never done it without their help. They helped butcher, helped the kitchen ladies with sorting the meat and cooking. By the end of the day, everything was all done, the food was delicious, it was like one big happy family, and Cheii Forrest Adison did the prayer for us to be blessed, protected, and learn harder, and go all the way with our education!”

Campus Clean Up
Monday, April 26th, 2010Chalk Drawing
Monday, April 26th, 2010Students enjoyed an afternoon in the sun chalk drawing on the basketball court! Old Man Winter hasn’t gone to sleep, so when the weather is nice, we like to get the kids outside. The original plan on the day of the event was to play an old fashion game of hopscotch….but, many students said they had no clue what hopscotch was…..REALLY? We are hoping for many nice days ahead and more fun in the sun!

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010The Richfield Residential Hall Recruiting Team spent a few days touring the Navajo Nation during the last few days of March. This year’s recruiting team consisted of: Mr. Workman, Mrs. Nielson (RRH Academic Director), Shawn Todacheenie (RHS Senior), Natasha Bitsinnie (RHS Senior), Shaquira Begay (SSHS Junior), Jerethan Tsinniginnie (RHS Sophomore), Mr. Bailey (SSHS Principal), Mrs. Topham (SSHS Media Center), Coach Singleton (RHS Teacher / Football & Wrestling Coach) and Mr. White (RHS Teacher).
