Since 1991 Richfield Residential Hall has been funded through a PL 100-297 Tribal Grant that must be reauthorized every three years. On Friday, March 23rd, the RRH Governing Board and Administration successfully negotiated reauthorization of the grant under which the program operates. Legislation for the reauthorization was prepared by the RRH Governing Board and Administration, and was sponsored by the honorable Jonathan Nez, Tribal Delegate from Shonto. This hearing before the Dine Education Committee was the culminating event of a long process, and resulted in a favorable outcome for our great program. Many high ranking Tribal Officials were in attendance at this event, and gave many favorable remarks about our program. As a result, Richfield Residential Hall is set to continue its tradition of excellence by serving Native American Youth for many years to come. Thanks to the RRH Governing Board, Administration, and Mr. Jonathan Nez for all of their hard work and tireless efforts to keep our program running.

Congratulations go out to Jeorcinda Slick, Kelly Keryte, Gabrielle Poorman, Chantel Begay, and Keisha Jim for receiving scholarship offers from College of Eastern Utah, San Juan Campus! Your hard work and dedication have paid off and opened doors to a future of your choosing! We are proud of you!

Congratulations to Leon Jackson and Geordena Isaac for being selected as “Student of the Month” for February 2007! This is a real honor as it is voted on by the staff of RRH. Leon is from Kaibeto and is the son of Leonard and Susie Jackson. Geordena, also from Kaibeto, is the daughter of George and Bessie Isaac.

Third Quarter ends on Tuesday, the 20th of March. There will be no school on Wednesday, the 21st, and Fourth Quarter begins on Thursday, March 22nd. Check back here soon to see which geniuses made the third quarter honor roll!
