Tuesday, April 28th, 2009Governing board members: President Stanley Yazzie, Vice-President Bill Cly, new member & Secretary Denis Tsosie, and member Nora Tallman held their monthly board meeting in Richfield and met with the staff and students. They encouraged the students to continue their education and be proud of who they are and where they come from. They shared personal educational stories with the students, which are always inspiring. The residential hall staff and students always enjoy on campus visits from the governing board. We know that we have their support and they work really hard to make Richfield Residential Hall a successful program. The board will visit the residential hall again on May 28th & 29th for the senior recognition banquet and graduation ceremonies for our 2009 graduates.
The Great Escape
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009The mutton fry wasn’t uneventful! One of the sheep decided to go AWOL and took off across the grass into the adjoining parking lot. The parking lot was filled with buses and vehicles of runners and spectators participating in the Richfield High School track meet. Students scurried after the sheep and it was finally tackled behind one of the buses. Cheii drove over his pick up and the students loaded up the sheep to be taken back to the residential hall for “lunch”. Those who witnessed this event said it was hilarious!
Mutton Fry
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009Our annual, big mutton fry was held Saturday, April 25th. Students and staff joined in the butchering and cooking up of the mutton. We had alot of pictures of the butchering and not one picture of the meal. What gives? The quess is that everyone was so hungry for mutton and chowed down they forgot to take pictures, so sorry for not being able to post pictures of our tasty mutton dinner. Thanks to students and staff who helped make the mutton fry successful and, yes, fun!
