1st Annual Color Run
The Saturday forecast may have been all thunderstorms and rain, but all Richfield Residential Hall students saw were rainbows. The student body participated in the very 1st Annual 5K Color Run on September 27th. This activity was spear-headed by the RRH Action Team who spent weeks of planning the logistics and execution of the run. During a color run participants take on a standard 5K course, but with a twist, along the way they are splashed with an array of colored powder during different points of the run. Several members of the Richfield Residential Hall staff and even members of the RRH Board ran/walked the course with the students. Dharshina Arizona, a senior A-Team member, stated, “It was challenging and a lot of kids challenged themselves. It was a great activity.” Uria Bitsinnie stated, “I walked that course over the hills and came in last place, but came out very happy and very colorful.” The students then gathered at the center of Lion’s Park and participated in a celebration color throw which produced a rainbow cloud of color over all the participants. ” We hope to continue this activity every year and hopefully extend this event to the public in the future,” stated Tina Stevens, a co-advisor to the Action Team at Richfield Residential.
