Helen Retires

In an afternoon of laughter and tears, Richfield Residential Hall cook, Helen Solano said goodbye to co-workers in the dining room that has been her second home for most of her working life. Helen has lovingly prepared meals for Richfield Residential Hall students for over 35 years. Those meals always came with a kind smile and words of encouragement from Helen. Many agreed that while she may have to get a ladder to reach 5 feet tall, this amazing woman has a heart that cannot be measured. Helen was honored by family, friends, co-workers and even a few former students in a special luncheon this afternoon. The consistent theme among those sharing memories and stories of Helen was her calm, soft-spoken and kind demeanor to all. Good luck in retirement, Helen.
