First Hike of The Year: Monrovian Hike

On August 31 staff members Marlene Stewart and Jaime Romero accompanied several students on a hike and picnic up Monrovian Canyon.  It is about fifteen miles south of Richfield and has several picnic spots as well as a stream and several places to hike.  The students enjoyed picnic foods provided by the RRH kitchen staff.  This was followed by giant marshmallows roasted on an open fire. Both the staff and students enjoyed their time in the cool mountain canyon and several could not resist the chance to play in the cold water stream.  A few even asked when they could come back.  They were reminded that soon they would have the opportunity to go to the State Fair in Salt Lake City and a trip to Capitol Reef.
