Gingerbread House Making with Richfield Care Center!

On Saturday, December 15, 2012, many students from the sophomore class joined residents of the Richfield Care Center for their Annual Gingerbread activity. Although this was a community service project, everyone had such a good time that it did not feel like work. The students and residents joined together to make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers, icing, candies, sprinkles and other treats. This was a first time experience for many of our students as well as some of the residents. Working together they made creations that all of them were proud of. They exchanged stories and experiences while they worked and enjoyed each other’s company. It was fun to watch both groups sneak bites of candy or lick their fingers when they thought that the others were not looking. Some of the students even tried eggnog for the first time  and enjoyed it. Everyone had such a good time that we were asked to come back for a Valentine’s activity  which we hope to be able to do.
