Hunger Games Book Club Sleepover

Happy Hunger Games!  Members of the book club had a book club party on Saturday, November 16 in the clubhouse along with pizza, cookies, and other snacks.  The 18 students started the night with Hunger Games trivia questions from book #2 which they competed to answer.   Throughout the book club this year, each member had to participate and answer trivia questions from both books correctly in order to gain participation points and convey their knowledge of the book.  Try your odds at some of the questions from “Catching Fire”:

1:  In Chapter 12 President Snow announces the terms for the Quarter Quell.  What is going to go in these games?

2:  Describe the tributes from the other districts who were picked for the Quarter Quell.

3: In Chapter 18 what lie does Peeta tell about Katniss during the interview to make the crowd go crazy?

Just from the sample above, students had to answer these  on-the-spot questions and many of them were getting competitive to show their knowledge to the other members!  Hands have been flying in the air like crazy these past few months to be the first to answer!

Students at the sleepover party then did a 45 minute group reading of the second half of “Catching Fire.”  Students then were off to making their beds and watched the first “Hunger Games.”  Stay tuned for the upcoming post for the Thursday early movie premiere of “Catching Fire.”  The book club will be there!
