Neighborhood Block Party 2013

The Annual Block Party was held from 4:30 to 6:00 on Monday, October 14. Each student could bring a friend and their family; the whole block was invited! Zach Welch welcomed everyone and then offered the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited in Navajo and the national anthem was sung in Navajo by Shawna Williams, Tamara Butler, and Julyla Benally. A delicious dinner of traditional Navajo Tacos was served with help from the Junior Class. Posters depicting various aspects of the Navajo culture were displayed and String Games taught to all interested participants. Students and visitors mingled, played get-to-know-you games, and overall had a wonderful time!
